Salutations. Last year, I mentioned I wanted to draw more. While I did, in fact, draw more than the year prior, I still accomplished very little. Now, I have a new job which offers a better work-life balance. For the last few days, I have been waking early to get in some drawing. Hopefully, that trend continues. I will post most of my quick drawings, sketches and one-page completed works here. However, most of my journal thoughts and finished works will end up over on my personal blog. You can find that at https://jcservant.wordpress.com/ . I hope each of you is doing well, by God's Grace. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any thoughts, comments or questions. Thank you!

Salutations! I have not drawn or posted much here over the last five or ten years (boy, how time flies!) There are many reasons... too many to go into here. With that said, I'm very busy, and will not have time to create a full blown comic any time soon. However, I do want to keep practicing with the hope that one day, I can retire and draw good comics with all the practice I have done. Over the next few months, I plan to practice by doing some tracking and standard figure drawing. Let me know if you see anything you like! I always love to hear from others. And I want to thank the many artists who post their art here as well. I always find it quite encouraging to see others' progress as well. I also pray that my work will lead all closer to God. Life is short... and we will face judgement. I pray that all will bow their knee to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. If anyone would like to talk about faith in God, feel free to reach out to me. May God bless you richly, JCServant

My Concern for “Christians” Many of my friends say “I am a Christian and I’m going to heaven.”  I ask, “How do you know?”  The answer is usually something along the lines that they said a prayer, somewhere, with sincerity, asking God into their heart.  The reality is that well over 50% of Americans believe something similar, and yet we all recognize that very few people live the Christian life. The Bible does not state that if one says a prayer, with sincerity, they become saved.  The Bible says that we must have faith in Jesus, and repent. And a lot of people are go

Welcome back!  And thanks for all the faves! :D
Just saw this show Max Steel on TV. Reminds me very much of Wildlight.

Only thing is Tammy and Christi are better.
OH hey...just seeing some of these older comments (that's what I get for falling off the radar for a few years).  I'll have to check out Max Steel...I'm not familiar with it outside of a few commercials.  There are a number of comic references that influenced my creation of Wildlight.  I'll have to do a journal entry on that sometime soon :)
Essentially, the version I referenced was about a wise cracking biomechanical organism forming a bond with a young man who semed to inexplicably start to generate an alien energy that he could not control. The duo share a symbiotic bond where the machine (Steel) takes the energy the teen (Max) generates and uses it to build powerful exosuits for a variety of situations allowing them to fight evil. They can communicate mentally which often makes people think Max is nutty for seemingly talking to himself.
Major difference from Wildlight being that the genders of both AI and human are male, people can see Steel if he reveals himself, and the suit Max wears can never come off lest he risk an energy overload on par with a nuclear detonation and so disguises it using hard light holograms.
Ah.  I'll definitely have to check it out.

One thing I've learn in the comic world...there's nothing new under the sun.  I won't get into details...but one character I was drawing for years...I found out later that a major comic company had a character just like it.  I never read that company's comics, so I know I never read that character before or got the idea from them.  The comic line in question pre-dated my own, however, so I know they didn't steal it from me!  (Because that's what ALL the large companies are trying to do).  Crazy!
